Evelyne Egerer

Biographie

Evelyne Egerer was born in Vienna in 1955. She studied archeology and art history at the University of Vienna; from 1977 with Oswald Oberhuber in the class for graphic design at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. Egerer works in the media of drawing and painting. In 1987 she founded the performance group Die Damen together with ONA B., Ingeborg Strobl, Birgit Jürgenssen, and Lawrence Weiner (from 1993). Egerer’s solo exhibitions include those at the Kunsthandlung Julius Hummel, Vienna (1983), Galerie Grita Insam, Vienna (1984), the Fotogalerie, Vienna (1996), and at the Galerie Stadtpark, Krems (2006). The Landesgalerie für zeitgenössische Kunst in St. Pölten presented a comprehensive retrospective of Die Damen in 2013. Evelyne Egerer lives and works in Vienna.
