Lavier enlarged or reconstructed Walt Disney Cartoons in the media of painting, photography and sculpture for a group of works the so called “Walt Disney Productions” (1986-95). This group of works in the collection of the Generali Foundation was presented 1997 in the exhibition postproduction. The presentation was photographed and then reproduced in two dimensions using the old technique of helioengraving for the edition postproduction. The readymade—or rather the insight that the art context is fundamental to the “experience” of art—is the central theme of Lavier’s œuvre.
