For the Twenty Six by Twenty Six exhibition at Vassar College of Art Gallery in Poughkeepsie, New York, Gordon Matta-Clark erected a construction of ladders, ropes, and textiles at the top of a big tree, where he carried out a performance inspired by fertility rites.
