The publication does not intend to provide a "correct" version of the project. The transfers, shifts, replacements and re-codings which were central in the methodology of "The making of" also imbue their representation in book form. What could follow after the "of" in the title of the project must here, as before, be reconstructed in the individual contributions, their manifold references to each other and to existing contexts. the text by Christian Höller and the series of interviews, Sabeth Buchmann and Nicholas Tovier made with the participating artists offer additional material for that.
