A running open-reel video machine situated on a table is connected to a TV monitor. Three consecutive sequences of equal length show a video player in action, playing regularly. In a constructed self-reference, the discontinuities between the viewer’s observation and the identity of the real object are subjected to medial examination. (Doris Leutgeb)
